1. Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications:
The candidate must have passed the 10th class or equivalent from a Government recognized Board.
Age Limit:
There are two age groups:
• Age Group 1: Minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years
• Age Group 2: Minimum 18 years and maximum 27 years

SSC MTS Exam Pattern
The examination of SSC MTS is conducted in 3 different levels: Paper-1, Paper-2 (Descriptive Test) & Paper-3 (Skill Test).
• Paper-1 is an online exam that is objective multiple choice question type.
• Paper-2 is a pen and paper mode of examination, which includes a descriptive paper in English or any other language, listed in the government policies.
• Paper-3 is a skill test that needs to be taken at per candidate's convenience.

Note:
• Paper 1 - Candidates will be shortlisted for Paper-II on the basis of their performance in Paper-I.
• Descriptive Test - Paper-II will only of qualifying nature. The cut-offs in Paper-I and qualifying marks in Paper-II may be different for vacancies in each State/ UT will be fixed at the discretion of the Commission.
• Paper-I will consist of Objective Type- Multiple choice questions only.
• There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.
• Paper-II will be descriptive in which the candidate will be required to write a short essay/letter in English or any language included in the 8th schedule of the Constitution.
• It is mandatory for the candidate to qualify both these stages of examination in order to make it to the merit list prepared by SSC prepared at the end.
3. SSC MTS Syllabus
SSC MTS Paper I is objective type. There are 100 questions asked in Paper I for which candidates will get 90 minutes. Questions will be based on the following topics:
